Kathak Dance

Footwork, abhinaya and storytelling, taught in the tradition of the Banaras and Lucknow styles.

About the course

Kathak means the art of the storyteller. Students learn tatkar, chakkar and hasta mudras, then build towards tukde, paran and expressive pieces set to taal.

Guru Shashilata Guptaa trained in the Banaras-Lucknow tradition, and that lineage shapes how every class is taught: rhythm first, grace second, expression always.

Who it is for

Children and adults are both welcome. Kathak helps with posture, memory and stamina, and it suits anyone who enjoys rhythm. No dance background is required.
